Job summary

Gold's Gym of the Carolinas and Florida is seeking a Front Desk Associate to greet members and guests, check in members, answer inquiries, and direct people to the appropriate staff. You will maintain the front desk and smoothie bar area, process sales, and support daily gym operations.

This role requires excellent customer service, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service needed.
• Effective communication verbally and in writing.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Understanding of basic cash handling procedures.
• Functional computer skills required.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
• Must lift 25 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests promptly to create a welcoming entrance.
• Provide security and control at front door and retail area.
• Check members in using proper procedures.
• Monitor check-ins and notify supervisor of delinquent accounts.
• Register all guests and transfer calls to appropriate staff.
• Direct guests to the correct fitness consultant.
• Answer phones with professional greetings and take messages.
• Follow up on inquiries to ensure appointments are booked.
• Maintain neat appearance and wear uniform with nametag.
• Distribute keys, towels, and materials as needed.
• Process retail and concession sales.
• Attend staff meetings as directed.
• Perform opening/closing procedures as instructed.
• Log maintenance concerns and safety issues.
• Notify management of incidents requiring reports.
• Walk through gym as scheduled and keep areas orderly.
• Assist with light cleaning and restocking as needed.
• Operate smoothie machines and other beverage tools.
• Maintain cleanliness of smoothie bar area and inventory.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly.
