Job summary

BackOps is hiring its first GTM Engineer in San Francisco to build the data and automation foundation that powers a rapidly scaling enterprise GTM motion. You will create tools for the field to understand accounts faster, identify customer problems, move opportunities forward, and demonstrate value.

You will own the GTM data model, the value ledger, and reusable context layers, partnering with GTM leadership to unlock productivity and scale through durable systems with measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience across GTM systems, Revenue Operations, technical operations, growth, automation, business operations, or another applied technical role supporting a complex B2B organization.
• Track record of building systems, tools, automations, or workflows that users adopt and that deliver measurable value.
• Strong fluency with SQL, APIs, data models, automation/orchestration tooling, and modern AI-enabled development tools.
• Solid GTM and commercial judgment, understanding how sales and customer teams operate to drive revenue.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems into durable systems and operating models.

Responsibilities

• Build tools for Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, and Customer Success Managers to act quickly with context on accounts, locations, workflows, and next actions.
• Create a workflow discovery system turning inputs into an ROI-ranked view of automation opportunities.
• Instrument pilots and POVs to measure adoption, impact, and risk.
• Develop AI-enabled workflows to reduce admin work and propose CRM updates.
• Surface expansion opportunities by linking product usage, outcomes, and account context to guide field efforts.
