Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care on-site in Missouri. You will assist patients in choosing frames, lenses, and treatments while ensuring accurate measurements and proper fit.

Interpret prescriptions, manage insurance questions, and enter data into the EHR. You will maintain product knowledge, coordinate with technicians, and deliver a seamless patient experience from fitting to aftercare.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains our recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on lifestyle and prescription.
• Interpret prescriptions, ensure proper fit, and dispense eyewear with accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance benefits, copays, and coverage limitations.
• Enter prescription data into the EHR and related systems accurately.
• Follow up on orders and inform patients of status or delays.
• Perform eyewear adjustments and repairs; inspect final product for quality.
• Educate patients on care, warranty, and replacement options.
