Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Manager II in Cambridge, OH.

You will oversee direct driver management for midsize fleets, ensure safe and timely freight movements, assign loads, and maintain strong customer service while complying with DOT regulations. Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts is required to meet operational needs. The role involves coordinating with drivers, customers, and internal teams to optimize routing, plan loads, and monitor performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of related experience OR equivalent military experience.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends as needed.
• Demonstrated skills in communication, customer relationship management, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with drivers and safety to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support optimization of fleet operations.
• Train and orient drivers and staff, including use of internal and third-party systems.
• Analyze fleet operations and profitability; present KPI reports and financial analyses.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment in market.
• Perform payroll, counseling, invoices, and operational reporting.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and safety issues.
