Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Manager II to lead driver management and ensure safe, on-time movement of freight. You will oversee load assignments, compliance with DOT and company rules, and coordinate with drivers, customers, and operations across shifts.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills to optimize profitability and service quality, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years in transportation/logistics or related fields.
• Willingness to work multiple shifts including nights/weekends.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, transportation or supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with drivers and safety to minimize turnover.
• Fill in for absent personnel and optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Train drivers and staff on internal and third-party systems.
• Analyze fleet operations and profitability; present KPIs and reports.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs for account equipment.
• Plan loads, route freight, monitor on-time service and ETAs.
