Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Store Manager to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day store operations across multiple departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service excellence, and manage staffing, hiring, and performance decisions to achieve sales goals while maintaining store standards.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and a focus on safe, efficient operations. You will spend time in-store coordinating with teams to deliver exceptional service and results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information for informed decisions.
• Experience in teaching suggestive selling and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and advise on promotions.
• Responsible for P&L, sales, and shrink within the department.
• Ensure store appearance and presentation aligns with Meijer standards.
• Promote a safe work environment and Meijer Friendly Initiative.
