Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced retail leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day store operations across departments. You will mentor staff, tailor staffing and training, and drive customer service excellence while maintaining store standards and sales goals.

In this role you will manage staffing, handle promotions and disciplinary actions, and ensure safety and reliable attendance. You will collaborate with teams to deliver strong results and a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments across store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service.
• Proven ability to communicate directions clearly.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data for decisions.
• Experience mentoring staff and promoting safety and training.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members towards customer service and sales goals.
• Implement strategies to improve service, staffing, and product presentation.
• Maintain store standards and appearance during prime hours.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs and schedules.
• Disciplinary actions where necessary and performance discussions.
• Ensure P&L accountability and shrink control for the department.
• Promote Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and daily work.
• Ensure all required training is completed for staff and new hires.
• Maintain safety, reliable attendance and a positive work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
