Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is hiring a Groundman to support overhead distribution work. The role involves helping build, repair and maintain power lines while adhering to safety standards in outdoor environments.

You may be required to travel, work long hours, and participate in on-call rotations to respond to outages and emergencies. This is an entry-level position reporting to the Foreman, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License with ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift/cushion materials/equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair overhead distribution systems while prioritizing safety.
• Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Be available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understand when to wear personal protective equipment.
• Will perform rigorous physical labor.
