Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in California is seeking a Grocery Manager to lead multiple departments, including Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Food, and Beer/Wine. You will drive sales, ensure product freshness, and uphold safety standards while delivering outstanding customer service.

The role requires hands-on leadership, coaching team members, managing scheduling, controlling costs, and partnering with Store Manager on staffing and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year managerial or supervisory experience in a multi-department operation within retail/hospitality/service
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to take and give direction in a team
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with positive attitude and customer interaction skills
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff while understanding reports and financial goals
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must have Food Safety certification and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and product safety standards
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with strong organizational skills
• Must be able to lift/move up to 60 lbs milk trays and 50 lbs boxes as part of duties
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Oversee sales and operations for multiple departments: Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Food, and Beer/Wine
• Control costs by monitoring operations and reducing shrink and losses
• Assist with store preparations for physical inventory counts
• Oversee deliveries and verify against invoices, reporting discrepancies
• Manage ordering, sanitation, back-room inventory, and department safety
• Coach and develop team members through feedback and performance reviews
• Lead in-store meetings and participate in promotions and merchandising discussions
• Recruit, hire, and collaborate with Store Manager on promotions and staffing decisions
• Address team member concerns and take corrective actions when needed
• Schedule optimization to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Ensure clear communication of standards and product knowledge to staff
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and exemplary customer service
• Act as Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed
