Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to support operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused store in California. You will lead a busy Grocery team, manage scheduling, ordering, and inventory, and drive sales while maintaining high quality and service standards.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and 1-3 years retail management experience. Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred
• Be dependable and reliable with flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours is expected
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to take and give direction as part of a team
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and customer interaction skills
• Possess proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff with knowledge of personnel, margin and weekly sales reports
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organization and planning skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Must vertically transfer milk trays weighing up to 60 lbs. for up to 25 hours
• Must vertically/horizontally transfer boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. for up to 25 hours without assistance
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to access low positions for up to 30 hours

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
• Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest product quality, service, and customer experience
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Grocery Team
• Unload and sort through store deliveries
• Ensure execution of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ensure staff adherence
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to team success
