Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a 'Certified Food Safety Manager' or will be required to attend training and achieve accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of duties and provide ongoing performance management and training.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity.
• Provide leadership and motivate store culture in line with Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Ensure excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience.
• Role model outstanding customer service and use product knowledge to meet customer needs.
• Control store expenses through proper ordering and use of supplies and equipment.
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, CAO, and business information systems.
• Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, safety, food safety and sanitation.
• Ensure Grocery Department schedules enable extraordinary customer service.
• Understand scheduling, sales, wage percent, interviewing, hiring, training, and other items to manage the Grocery Department.
• Ensure proper ordering, receiving, preparation, and display of merchandise per policies.
• Monitor safety and report accidents per procedures.
• Monitor shrink and coach to prevent losses.
• Assist with physical inventory bi-annually.
• Ensure advertising and promotional materials are properly used.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company guidelines.
• Maintain security standards.
• Complete CBT and training courses; provide recognition and constructive counseling as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
