Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provides ongoing performance management, training and conducts timely formal performance appraisals for direct reports
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity expectations
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture aligned with Guiding Principles, Core Values and Strategy
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
• Smile and maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, easy, flexible and friendly customer service
• Role model outstanding, friendly customer service using knowledge of department products to meet customer expectations
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems
• Maintain department appearance, quality, variety, workplace safety, food safety and sanitation
• Ensure schedules enable extraordinary customer service at all times
• Have understanding of scheduling, sales, wage percent, interviewing and training
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation and displaying merchandise follows policies
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions
• Record and report accidents
• Monitor shrink and coaching to prevent losses
• Assist with bi-annual physical inventory
• Ensure advertising and signage are utilized
• Ensure compliance with regulations
• Adhere to guidelines, policies and standards
• Maintain security standards
• Complete CBT, training packets and training aids
• Provide recognition and constructive counseling as needed
• Perform all other duties as assigned
