Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management and coaching.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to meet productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maintain a fast, easy, friendly, customer-focused shopping experience.
• Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, safety and sanitation.
• Understand scheduling, sales, wage percent, and store policies for grocery operations.
• Control ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and display of merchandise.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and report accidents per Food Lion procedures.
• Monitor shrink and provide coaching to prevent losses.
• Assist with bi-annual physical inventory and annual cycle counts.
• Ensure promotions and signage are properly utilized and compliant with regulations.
• Maintain security standards and complete required CBT/training.
• Provide recognition and constructive feedback to staff to support customer satisfaction and store sales.
