Job summary

Food Lion seeks a Grocery Department Manager to support store operations, hire and develop department associates, and drive sales toward financial goals. You will lead daily labor management, coach staff, ensure safety, food safety, and maintain department appearance, signage, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements.
• Certification as a Food Safety Manager or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance and conduct regular performance appraisals.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to meet productivity.
• Provide leadership to promote Food Lion Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision, and Strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Ensure fast, friendly customer service and positive shopping experience.
