J. Alexander's Restaurant is a contemporary American restaurant known for its daily scratch-made wood-fired cuisine. We are hiring a Grill Cook with weekend and PM availability; part-time or full-time options and a competitive pay rate are offered.

Responsibilities include maintaining grill temps, coordinating with the team in an open-kitchen setup, and ensuring proper food temps and sanitation. Flexible scheduling supports school, life, and family needs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age to operate kitchen equipment.
• 1 yr. previous kitchen / culinary / chef experience on a broiler is preferred, but not required.
• Experience and knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to knives, slicer, mixer, stoves, and ovens required.
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the temperature of the grill throughout the shift and ensure proper temps.
• Work in an open-kitchen environment with visibility from the dining room.
• Coordinate designated positions with a focus on communication and teamwork.
• Manage ticket orders for proteins and ensure proper timing.
• Follow sanitation protocols and keep a clean station and workspace.
• Handle opening duties and closing cleaning tasks.
