Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Associate Engineering Intern for its Grid business unit in Pasadena, CA. You will assist senior engineers on transmission and distribution projects, supporting design, calculations, and specifications.

Under guidance, you’ll expand your knowledge across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering, with remote work allowances and a hybrid setup of three days in the office per week.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
• Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting tasks, tracking project activities and progress.
• Be involved in power designs and procurement documentation for major equipment, structures, and services.
