Job summary

BDO USA seeks a Manager, Outsourced Finance & Accounting for Government Contracting clients in New York. You will oversee full lifecycle engagements, drive proposals, staff assignments, and client relationships while reviewing final work products and portfolio performance.

Responsibilities include GAAP-compliant close, revenue recognition, and government contract accounting to ensure FAR/DCAA compliance. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, required
• Six (6) or more years of progressive accounting experience, including three (3) or more years of leading accounting teams in a government contracting environment, required
• CPA or CPA candidate, preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word, required
• Experience with GovCon ERP systems like Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, PROCAS preferred

Responsibilities

• Understands and works on all accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, and project accounting
• Manages monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepares GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Ensures compliant revenue recognition, contract accounting, and policy maintenance per GovCon regulations
• Oversees indirect cost structures, provisional billing rates, and forward pricing support
• Monitors funding, profitability, and project costs to ensure contract compliance
• Leads budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for executive decision-making
• Trains team members on GovCon methodology and tools
