Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Systems Engineer to support missile program portfolios within the Guidance, Navigation, and Control domain. You will help evaluate, design, implement, and integrate embedded software algorithms for real-time guidance and control.

Work involves CFD, wind tunnel concepts, and developing estimations, tracking, and Kalman-filter based navigation to meet mission objectives in an integrated product team. On-site collaboration with engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, physics, mathematics, or a related STEM field; degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and/or Object-Oriented design and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with GNC systems, modeling & simulation techniques, digital/modern control, dynamics, Kalman filter design, signal processing (EO/IR or RF), navigation systems, sensors (IMU/GPS), and APNT.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation, design, implementation, and integration of embedded software algorithms for guidance, navigation, and control.
• Characterize system aerodynamics via CFD and wind tunnel testing; design and optimize guidance, tracking, and navigation algorithms.
• Collaborate with an integrated product team to deliver tactical embedded software, firmware, and simulations to meet system performance goals.
