Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Production Technician I in North Chicago, IL to execute manufacturing processes across formulation, encapsulation, and packaging with supervision. You’ll set up equipment, monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with GMP while supporting continuous improvements and training colleagues.

Role emphasizes maintaining quality, adhering to ALCOA records, and collaborating with operations engineers and maintenance teams to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certificate or degree preferred; 2–3 years cGMP manufacturing experience.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate issues to engineers and mechanics.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new programs and applications.
• Commitment to quality and adherence to site policies and procedures.
• Experience with SAP and MAXIMO; knowledge of POMs is expected.

Responsibilities

• Operate on the line and manage scheduling priorities, daily assignments, and production expectations.
• Set up, run, blow, clean, and clear equipment per batch records.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment/process issues and perform repairs.
• Train colleagues on equipment and processes.
• Follow GMP and EH&S procedures and maintain an audit-ready production area.
