Sam Houston State University is seeking a GME Program Coordinator to oversee residency and fellowship operations within the Graduate Medical Education unit. The role collaborates with the Residency and Fellowship Directors to meet accreditation standards and support curricula.

The position manages recruitment, onboarding, site visits, and coordination with medical boards and professional associations. A bachelor's degree and relevant experience are required, with TAGME certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education, or related field.
• Four years of experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME) or related field.
• TAGME Certification preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the administration of day-to-day operations of the residency and fellowship programs.
• Works with the Residency Director and the Fellowship Director to ensure regulatory and accreditation standards are met and educational activities support curricula.
• Oversees development of procedures for both the residency and fellowship programs.
• Oversees, participates in, and coordinates two recruitment processes, including applications, interviews, ranking, contracting and onboarding for both programs.
• Supports two accreditation processes, including site visits and annual updates.
• Assists in identifying training sites for residents and fellows.
• Arranges audition rotations for medical students and residents.
• Interacts with Texas Medical Board, accreditation bodies, and professional associations.
• Serves as the front-line representative of the program and oversees and represents the program effectively and professionally.
• Designs routine reports, gathers data, and prepares correspondence.
• Recommends program guidelines, policies, rules and regulations and assesses the program.
• Travel planning, invoice preparation, purchasing, and coordination of special events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education, or related field
