Potbelly Corporate is seeking a General Manager for the Portland area to lead the shop with strong people leadership, P&L responsibility, and a focus on building a high-energy, customer-first environment.

This role requires 2+ years GM experience in food service or retail, food safety certification, and the ability to manage schedules, cost controls, and local marketing. The GM will spend substantial time on the shop floor ensuring safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as General Manager in a restaurant or retail with P&L responsibility.
• Meet Food Safety requirements and obtain a Food Safety Certification.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset for fast-paced environments.
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, and develop shop team members.
• Interview, hire, and build strong teams.
• Schedule Associates and Shift Leaders; manage labor goals.
• Drive local shop marketing and promotions to maximize sales.
• Control costs, inventories, and cash handling procedures.
