Job summary

Potbelly Corporate is seeking a General Manager in Evergreen Park, IL to lead shop operations, drive financial performance, and cultivate a high-energy, customer-focused team. The GM will manage labor, safety, and customer experience while promoting Potbelly values in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires P&L responsibility, strong communication, and a commitment to food safety. 80-90% time on shop floor with daily operations and community marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years as a General Manager in a restaurant or retail environment with P&L responsibility preferred.
• You must meet Food Safety requirements and obtain a Food Safety Certification within 30 days of employment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, and develop shop team members to realize their potential.
• Interview, select and hire great people who represent Potbelly values.
• Develop and maintain Good Vibes culture to foster attraction and retention.
• Effectively schedule associates, certified trainers and shift leaders.
• Count drawers and follow proper daily cash handling procedures.
• Create a local shop marketing plan and lead community involvement to boost sales.
