Job summary

Cogent Communications is seeking an energetic sales professional in Austin to drive new business in a regional telecom sales role. This in-office position focuses on hunting for opportunities and closing deals within a global IP transit and data center ecosystem.

You will identify prospects, qualify opportunities, and engage Key Decision Makers via direct outreach, meetings, and consultative selling. A track record in telecom sales and CRM usage is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3-8+ years of solid B2B sales in telecom with collocation, wholesale, and data transit.
• Proven track record in direct hunting, B2B sales, and quota achievement.
• Strong prospecting and research to identify new business.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, revenue-driven environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems a plus.
• College degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and hunting to identify new business opportunities within a global sales territory and target market segments of IP Transit, Content creators/hosters, Carriers/wholesalers and Netcentric companies.
• Through direct calling, email and contact efforts you will identify, qualify, and generate these new business opportunities by working directly with Key Decision Makers.
• Compliment prospecting and selling efforts through onsite customer meetings as needed.
• Use consultative and relationship building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
• Help Cogent customers and prospects by positioning our services for new business by leveraging the global network footprint that includes commercial and retail buildings, carrier neutral hotels, data centers and colocation facilities.
