Job summary

Cogent Communications in Columbus, OH seeks a field sales professional to identify and close new business within IP Transit, Content creators/hosters, Carriers/wholesalers and Netcentric companies. You will hunt opportunities, qualify decision makers, and conduct on-site meetings as needed.

The role is in-office five days a week with structured tenure-based pay increases and uncapped commissions; a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of solid B2B sales experience in telecom with collocation, wholesale and data transit.
• Proven track record of meeting/exceeding quota in a direct hunting sales role.
• Ability to identify, qualify and generate new business through prospecting and research.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within designated Regional Sales Territory via hunting and sourcing.
• Qualify and generate opportunities by engaging Key Decision Makers through calls and emails.
• Conduct onsite customer meetings as needed to advance sales.
• Position Cogent services to meet customer connectivity needs leveraging the global network footprint.
• Support customers and prospects by articulating our value proposition for IP transit and related services.
