Cogent Communications is a multinational ISP seeking an experienced regional sales professional to identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Chicago area. You will target IP Transit, content creators/hosters, carriers and wholesalers using a consultative selling approach.

The role emphasizes hunting, relationship building, and meeting quotas in a fast-paced telecom environment. A college degree is preferred but not required, with a strong benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• 3-8+ years of solid B2B sales experience in telecom with collocation/wholesale exposure.
• Proven track record of hunting and quota attainment in a direct sales role.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable in fast-paced teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a regional sales territory and global markets.
• Prospect via calls, emails, and meetings with Key Decision Makers.
• Complement prospecting with on-site customer meetings as needed.
• Position Cogent services for connectivity solutions leveraging the global network footprint.
• Develop relationships with IP transit customers, carriers, and content providers.
