Job summary

Cogent Communications is seeking an experienced B2B sales professional to grow our regional/global footprint in IP Transit, content creators/hosts, carriers, and netcentric firms. You will prospect, qualify opportunities, and present tailored connectivity solutions using Cogent's global network.

This office-based role emphasizes strong communication, CRM usage, and quota attainment. Ideal candidates have 3–8+ years in telecom sales, a proven track record, and the ability to work in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 3-8+ years of solid, B2B sales experience in a telecom arena with collocation, wholesale experience and data transit and transport.
• Proven experience with a track record of success in a direct hunting, B2B sales role and quota achievement.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
• Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and a CRM are a plus.
• A college degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities in a regional/global sales territory across IP Transit, content creators/hosts, carriers/wholesalers and netcentric firms.
• Reach out via calls and emails to identify and qualify opportunities with key decision makers.
• Support prospecting with on-site customer meetings as required.
• Use consultative selling to identify current and future connectivity needs.
• Position services leveraging Cogent's global network footprint across data centers and carrier-neutral facilities.
