Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is a leading supplier of aircraft-quality raw materials for the aerospace industry. We seek a shipping/logistics coordinator to manage outbound shipments, coordinate with carriers, and ensure ITAR compliance.

The role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and timely delivery across domestic and international shipments. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of related experience, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with UPS/FedEx systems.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiency.
• Strong math skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with UPS and FedEx software.
• Ability to read/write English.
• Knowledge of ITAR and government regulations preferred.
• Experience tracking international shipments.
• Forklift/Side-loader certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of related shipping/logistics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages all administrative logistical details for outbound shipments processed by outside carriers and internal Fleet.
• Manages all logistical details for outbound domestic and international export shipments by outside carriers and Freight Forwarders.
• Obtains quotes and selects vendors for freight and freight forwarding services.
• Coordinates with internal and external contacts on shipments.
• Investigates and resolves customer issues pertaining to shipping or paperwork.
• Examines, prepares and administers documents such as invoices, bills of lading and shipping statements.
• Ensures accuracy and integrity of shipments and packaging for timely deliveries.
• Maintains compliance with ITAR and other governmental regulations.
• Ships material by FedEx and UPS.
• Files all freight claims for damaged goods and tracks them weekly; resolves disputes.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
