Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is seeking a logistics/shipments coordinator to manage outbound shipments and coordinate with carriers. You will prepare documents, track shipments, and ensure ITAR compliance as part of daily operations.

Ideal candidates have strong math and communication skills, English literacy, and 1–2 years of related experience. This on-site role supports domestic and international shipments and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Solid math skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of UPS and FedEx software.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• ITAR and government regulations knowledge preferred.
• 1-2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages all logistical details for outbound shipments by outside carriers and internal Fleet.
• Obtains quotes and selects vendors for freight and forwarding services.
• Coordinates with internal and external contacts on shipments.
• Investigates and resolves customer issues pertaining to shipping or paperwork.
• Examines, prepares and administers documents such as invoices, bills of lading and shipping statements.
• Ensures accuracy and integrity of shipments and packaging for timely deliveries.
• Maintains compliance with ITAR and other government regulations.
• Ships material by FedEx and UPS.
• Files freight claims for damaged goods and tracks them weekly; resolves disputes.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
