Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Reserving Actuary in New York to interface with underwriting, claims, and IT while developing reserves and insights across diverse markets in the Americas Insurance Group. You will lead reserving initiatives, provide business intelligence, and work with global finance to ensure reserve adequacy.

The role requires CAS accreditation, a strong actuarial background in P&C/reinsurance, and excellent communication to influence strategic decisions.

Qualifications

Actuarial Accreditation (CAS ACAS/FCAS) is required.
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, applied math, statistics, or related field.
Strong analytical and research skills with ability to lead and influence decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

Support ad-hoc profitability reviews, planning, financial reporting and special projects.
Develop reserve indications and review reserve performance.
Develop actuarial valuations for new and evolving lines of business.
Build relationships with finance, claims and underwriting as a consultative partner.
Provide timely, insightful business intelligence for strategic initiatives.
Prepare actuarial reports and exhibits on unit results to focus on emerging risks.
Collaborate with global financial reporting teams.
