Job summary

AXA XL in the United States seeks a Reserving Actuary to interface with underwriting, pricing, claims, operations, reinsurance, and IT. You will develop forward-looking reserve insights and support strategic initiatives across NAIG, driving reserve adequacy in multiple lines of business.

You will partner with finance, underwriting, and actuarial teams worldwide, delivering reports and models while staying current with market trends and reserving methods.

Qualifications

• Actuarial experience in property/casualty insurance or reinsurance.
• FCAS or seasoned ACAS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients of varying actuarial knowledge.
• Strong time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration within a team.
• Robust analytical skills and proficiency with business productivity software.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills for data extraction and reporting.
• Experience with reserving methods and data modeling.
• Ability to hit the ground running and ask questions to develop solutions.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development of reserve indications and reviewing reserve performance.
• Performing deep-dive analytics to develop forward-looking recommendations for senior leadership.
• Building relationships with finance and underwriting as a consultative partner.
• Supporting strategic actuarial initiatives with insightful business intelligence.
• Preparing actuarial reports and exhibits on unit results to focus resources on risks.
• Collaborating with actuarial and financial teams globally.
• Staying current with trends in assigned functional areas.
