Job summary

AXA XL, the property & casualty and specialty risk division of AXA, seeks a Reserving Actuary to interface with underwriting, claims, finance, reinsurance and IT across the Americas. You will develop forward-looking reserve insights and contribute to ratemaking, planning and forecasting in support of reserve adequacy across varied commercial lines.

You will build reserve indications, create actuarial valuations for new lines, and present reports to guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• CAS accreditation is required (ACAS or FCAS).
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related field.
• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to lead and influence decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal/external clients of varying actuarial knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support on ad-hoc profitability reviews, business planning, financial reporting, and special projects.
• Develop reserve indications and review reserve performance retrospectively.
• Develop actuarial valuations for new and evolving lines of business.
• Build relationships with stakeholders in finance, Claims and underwriting as a consultative partner.
• Support strategic actuarial initiatives with timely, insightful business intelligence.
• Prepare actuarial reports and exhibits on business unit results to focus resources on risk areas.
• Collaborate with global financial reporting teams.
