Job summary

The International Patient Coordinator at Mayo Clinic works with embassy-sponsored patients and Sponsors to coordinate care across international partners, ensuring services align with the Letter of Guarantee and Mayo systems.

You will interact daily with external groups, international patients, Mayo staff, and Sponsoring Agents, scheduling timely appointments and assisting in authorization of non-covered services, thriving in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, ideally in the medical field.
• Spanish language skills are strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication and teamwork skills.
• Very strong customer service skills and a proven ability to expeditiously resolve problems.
• Must be flexible and have the ability to respond to changing priorities and varying workloads.
• Must have knowledge of cultural backgrounds of patients to be served.
• Experience in a medical field, managed care or similar environment and knowledge of the Mayo system is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for embassy-sponsored international patients and Sponsors, and with international medical centers and referral facilitators.
• Ensure that care aligns with the Letter of Guarantee from the Sponsoring Agent.
• Interact daily with external groups, international patients, Mayo staff, and Sponsoring Agents to coordinate services.
• Assist in obtaining authorization of services not covered by the Letter of Guarantee.
• Communicate regularly with Sponsoring Agents, providing lists of patients active in the Mayo system and status.
• Schedule appointments timely and in line with approved care.
• Cover other assignments in the International Office as needed.
