Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is looking for a world-class Network Engineer to support the AWS datacentre core networks and drive the stability of our next-generation network.

You will manage capacity planning, automate troubleshooting with Python and scripts, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to keep the network healthy at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 3+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience.

Responsibilities

• Network Capacity Planning: Core networks capacity planning; ensure redundancy and long-term availability across the CLOS fabric.
• Operational Excellence: Respond to monitoring alarms, stabilise impact, troubleshoot routing/interswitch issues, work with vendors to diagnose problems.
• Change Management: Define requirements, write/review changes, execute safely and ensure policy compliance.
• Automation: Seek automation opportunities in troubleshooting and administration tasks; scope tools with System Developers.
• Continued Improvement: Create/update documentation; identify simple, repeatable solutions; participate in entry level interviews.
