Job summary

ATR International is seeking a detail-oriented Leave of Absence & Benefits Specialist (Contract) to join our HR team. You will manage multi-jurisdictional leaves (US, Canada, Mexico) and collaborate with payroll, benefits, and vendors to ensure compliant, seamless operations.

You will handle notices, medical certifications, and return-to-work processes while guiding employees through complex leave regulations with empathy and clarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of Benefits, HR, Finance, or related experience.
• Associate’s degree with 4+ years of experience; OR
• High School Diploma/equivalent with 6+ years of experience. Advanced degrees may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Leave Administration: Handle intake, eligibility verification, and tracking for medical, personal, parental, military, and disability leaves.
• Regulatory Compliance: Administer leaves per FMLA, ADA, and state/local paid family leave laws.
• Case Management & Documentation: Issue notices, collect medical certifications, track schedules, and maintain confidential files.
• Return-to-Work Coordination: Support interactive processes for accommodations and modified schedules.
• Global Leave Support: Canada ROE updates, EI sickness benefits, and tax/benefit coordination; Mexico IMSS claims and subsidies.
• Benefits & Cross-Functional Support: Support employee benefit programs and coordinate with Payroll/Finance/Procurement.
• Employee Guidance: Advise employees and leadership on leave policies with clarity and empathy.
