Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Benefits: Competitive benefits package including medical, retirement plans, paid time off, and additional company benefits.

About the Role

Addison Group is partnering with a growing organization in the healthcare industry to identify a Benefits & LOA Specialist to join their team on a contract basis, with potential for contract-to-hire.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR professional with strong hands‑on experience in leave administration and employee benefits. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of HR support experience, including 2+ years specifically focused on Benefits and LOA, and be comfortable managing a high volume of employee cases across multiple states.

The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment with limited oversight. Healthcare experience is preferred, but candidates from other industries with strong Benefits and LOA backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a high volume of employee leave requests across multiple states, including medical, family, personal, and workers' compensation‑related leaves
  • Guide employees through the leave process, including required documentation, deadlines, status updates, and return‑to‑work requirements
  • Coordinate with leave administrators, HR partners, managers, and benefit providers to track cases and resolve outstanding items
  • Support ADA accommodation requests by coordinating documentation, tracking the interactive process, and escalating complex cases appropriately
  • Assist with workers' compensation cases, including claim documentation, carrier communication, work restrictions, and return‑to‑work coordination
  • Answer employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, enrollment, qualifying life events, coverage changes, and benefits during leave
  • Research and resolve benefits discrepancies in partnership with the Benefits Manager, payroll, and benefit providers
  • Maintain accurate leave dates, benefit changes, case notes, and supporting documentation in HRIS and internal tracking systems
  • Partner with payroll regarding leave‑related pay changes, benefit deductions, and employee status updates
  • Monitor pending cases and follow up on missing documentation
  • Prioritize urgent employee inquiries within a busy shared inbox or ticket queue
  • Prepare basic Excel reports to track active leaves, outstanding actions, and benefits issues
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, medical, benefits, and leave information
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of HR support experience
  • 2+ years of hands‑on Benefits and Leave of Absence experience required
  • ADA accommodation experience required
  • Workers' Compensation experience required
  • Multi‑state HR experience required
  • Strong understanding of leave administration and benefits processes
  • Experience managing a high volume of employee cases in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Workday strongly preferred
  • Basic to intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with Unum and/or Zendesk is a plus
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is not required
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable operating with limited oversight
  • Patient, easygoing, and adaptable communication style
  • Able to remain calm and professional in a high‑volume environment

This is a fully remote opportunity supporting a fast‑paced, high‑volume HR environment. Candidates must reside in either the Central or Eastern Time Zone and be available to work a consistent 9:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule.

The team is collaborative and supportive, but the workload can be extremely busy. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of their work, managing multiple cases simultaneously, and staying productive without constant direction.

This position will work closely with HR leadership, benefits, payroll, managers, employees, and external leave and benefits providers.

Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
