Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Senior Manager/Director of Lateral Partner Recruiting to lead searches, map markets, and coordinate cross-functional activities in a dynamic, global setting. You will manage multiple searches, craft tailored messaging, and deliver clear candidate assessments, while safeguarding confidential information and maintaining momentum across timelines.

Qualifications

• BA, BS or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in attorney recruiting with demonstrated exposure to partner recruiting or practice growth initiatives.
• Experience supporting complex recruiting processes, preferably lateral partner hiring, with working knowledge of candidate assessment and onboarding.
• Strong research and analytical skills using market, client, competitive, and pipeline data.

Responsibilities

• Confirm scope, candidate criteria, stakeholders, and timeline for each assigned search; translate those priorities into practical workplans and defined next steps.
• Manage the day-to-day execution of assigned lateral partner searches from launch through onboarding, coordinating sourcing, interviews, diligence, approvals, and offers.
• Conduct market research and mapping across relevant firms, practices, geographies, clients, and candidate profiles; monitor moves and competitive developments.
• Review prospective candidates against criteria; prepare summaries of experience, business profile, fit, and concerns; gather supporting information for business cases and presentations.
• Develop and maintain tailored recruiting messages, search briefs, candidate presentations, sector materials, and other content that communicates the firm’s value proposition.
• Coordinate with practice management, client development, finance, conflicts, and other teams to collect information and manage dependencies.
• Maintain candidate communications, interviews, travel, and follow-up; understand motivations and maintain momentum.
• Support productive search-firm relationships by coordinating submissions and feedback, resolving ownership questions, and tracking progress.
• Maintain complete information in recruiting systems; prepare pipeline reports and analyses identifying bottlenecks and needed leadership attention.
• Apply templates, processes, and quality controls; identify workflow issues and implement improvements.
• Protect confidential information and exercise sound judgment; support other recruiting projects as assigned.
