Job summary

JAS Forwarding USA, Inc. is seeking an Operations Specialist to process air/ocean import and export shipments, ensuring compliance and top-tier service for customers.

The role may oversee CHB processes and requires handling inquiries, billing, and cost forecasting while maintaining strong communication with clients and vendors. This is an on-site position in California with a base hourly rate discussed during hiring.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience handling imports and exports (air/ocean).
• Knowledge of Puerto Rico customs laws, practices and procedures.
• Experience and knowledge regarding import, compliance, rules and regulations preferred.
• Experience handling accruals and billing of services to customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process documents (classification, invoices) ensuring accuracy.
• Receive and track bookings/shipments, update status and dispatch for delivery.
• Bill/invoice each file with attention to payment terms.
• Reconcile payables by working with vendors and overseas offices.
• Provide accurate job costing forecasts and manage accruals.
• Deliver responsive customer service and communicate with truckers.
• Promote compliance and escalate issues when needed.
