Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. in Rialto, CA, is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to manage all outbound domestic and international shipments. You will coordinate with carriers, obtain quotes, prepare shipping documents, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining ITAR compliance.

The role requires strong Excel/Outlook, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate with internal teams and external vendors. Prior experience with FedEx/UPS software and forklift certification are a plus.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel proficiency required.
• Strong math skills are required.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of UPS and FedEx software preferred.
• Ability to read/write in English is required.
• ITAR and government regulations knowledge preferred.
• Experience tracking international shipments is a plus.
• Forklift/side-loader certification preferred.
• Must pass drug and background checks.
• 1-2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages all outbound domestic and international shipments with external carriers and freight forwarders.
• Obtains quotes and selects vendors for freight services.
• Coordinates with internal and external contacts on shipments.
• Investigates and resolves shipping or paperwork issues for customers.
• Prepares and audits documents such as invoices, bills of lading and shipping statements.
• Ensures accuracy and integrity of shipments and packaging for timely deliveries.
• Maintains ITAR compliance and other regulatory requirements.
• Ships material via FedEx and UPS.
• Files freight claims for damaged goods and tracks them weekly.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
