Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is seeking a Shipping/Logistics Coordinator to manage outbound shipments and collaborate with carriers such as UPS and FedEx. The role ensures accurate paperwork, compliance with ITAR, and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities include vendor quotes, dispatch coordination, problem resolution, and maintaining shipping materials inventory. Proficiency in MS Office and English is required, with forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

Proficiency with MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Solid math skills are required.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of UPS and FedEx software is preferred.
Ability to read/write in English.
Understanding ITAR and government regulations preferred.
Experience tracking international shipments is a plus.
Forklift certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manages all outbound shipments processed by outside carriers and internal Fleet.
Obtains quotes and selects vendors for freight and forwarding services.
Coordinates with internal/external contacts on shipments.
Investigates and resolves customer issues related to shipping or paperwork.
Prepares and administers invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements.
Ensures accuracy of shipments and packaging for timely deliveries.
Maintains ITAR compliance and other regulations.
Ships material via FedEx and UPS.
Files freight claims for damaged goods and tracks them weekly.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
