Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. is seeking an Export Specialist to facilitate the movement of products by ocean and air freight, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company procedures.

You will handle bookings, rates, document production, and customer interactions related to shipments. Based in Charlotte, NC, the role requires strong organizational skills and English fluency, with experience in freight forwarding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Fluency in English required; additional languages preferred.
• Experience in freight forwarding industry preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; detail oriented and able to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate necessary documentation for export activities.
• Coordinate cargo pickup/transfer and monitor status.
• Communicate with export authorities, customers and suppliers to ensure lawful operations.
• Obtain spot rates when necessary.
• Communicate with overseas agents and clients on alerts, rates, and shipment status.
• Track shipments and update customers/agents.
• Create customer files and invoices; manage payables.
• Audit files for accuracy; ensure data entry in system.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
