Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. is seeking an Air Export Specialist to facilitate outbound shipments by air, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies.

You will provide customer service to exporting customers and accounting agents, handle bookings, provide rates, prepare documents, and resolve issues to keep shipments moving smoothly. The role requires 2-5 years' experience in air exports, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience handling Air Exports shipments or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate documentation for air export activities.
• Coordinate cargo pickup and transfer while monitoring status.
• Communicate with export authorities, customers, and suppliers to ensure lawful relations.
• Manage carrier and vendor rates, obtain spot rates.
• Prepare pre-alerts, rate requests, and shipment status communications.
• Track shipments and update customers and agents.
• Create and maintain customer files.
• Provide customer invoicing and payable approval.
• Audit files for accuracy and completeness.
• Interact with coworkers professionally.
• Complete US Customs AES filings.
• Manage KPIs for operations and customers.
• Assist other departments as needed.
