Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. in Charlotte, NC seeks an Export Specialist to facilitate the movement of products out of the country via ocean and air freight, ensuring compliance with laws and internal policies.

You will handle bookings, documentation, rates, invoicing and problem solving. This role requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, and attention to detail in a fast-paced, office-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate the necessary documentation for export activities
• Coordinate cargo pickup/transfer and monitor status
• Communicate with export authorities, customers and suppliers to ensure efficient relations
• Obtain spot rates when necessary
• Communicate with overseas agents and clients regarding pre-alerts, rate requests and shipment status
• Track shipments and update customers/agents of status
• Create and maintain customer files
• Create customer invoices and approve payables
• Audit files to ensure accuracy and completion
• Ensure accurate data entry and document upload into the system
• Assist other departments as needed
