Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. is seeking an Export Specialist to facilitate export movements by air and ocean, ensuring compliance with laws and policies. The role includes handling bookings, rates, documentation, and customer interaction across territories.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in exports, English fluency, and strong organizational skills, with a background in freight forwarding preferred. This is a full‑time role based in New York, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ export experience or education equivalent.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of US customs laws and procedures.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate documentation for export activities.
• Coordinate cargo pickup/transfer and monitor status.
• Communicate with authorities, customers and suppliers to ensure compliant activity.
• Obtain spot rates when necessary.
• Correspond with overseas agents and clients for shipment updates.
• Track shipments and update customers/agents.
• Create/maintain customer files and invoices.
• Audit files for accuracy and completeness.
• Data entry and document uploads.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
