Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business and 15+ years outside sales experience required.
• Strong track record of relationship development and business development.
• Background selling software/consulting services to mid- or senior-level decision makers.
• Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue for Vertex by selling Vertex transaction tax solutions in a defined territory.
• Develop strategy and account plans to penetrate designated territory and accounts.
• Establish relationships with key customer and partner contacts; sell into multi-department enterprises.
• Understand customer requirements and develop tailored Vertex solutions; respond to RFPs and proposals.
• Develop business cases and gain executive sponsorship for Vertex initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maximize account value and communicate Vertex direction to customers.
• Maintain knowledge of customer news and industry developments; participate in professional societies.
