Job summary

Vertex Inc. is seeking a proactive sales professional to generate revenue by selling Vertex transaction tax solutions across a defined territory in the United States.

You will develop strategies, target accounts, and build long-term relationships with customers and partners at senior levels. You will manage complex, multi-department opportunities, respond to RFPs, collaborate with Vertex Consulting, and position Vertex as an enterprise-wide value proposition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business is required.
• 15+ years outside sales experience required.
• Experience selling software to mid- or senior-level decision makers required.
• Background selling software/consulting services to executives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue for Vertex by selling Vertex transaction tax solutions in a defined territory.
• Includes targeting specific accounts, developing strategy, gaining understanding of companies' tax and technical environments, and selling Vertex solutions that fit requirements.
• Drive opportunities at strategic and tactical level by selling enterprise-wide value proposition to the highest levels within customers’ organizations.
• Build customer awareness and understanding of Vertex’s business direction by keeping key customers informed of Vertex initiatives.
• Support a dynamic team environment by collaborating with other functional areas and initiatives.
