Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Senior Director, Global Engineering to provide strategic leadership across a worldwide engineering network. The role drives capital project execution, site engineering, and digital transformation to enable safe, scalable, and highly reliable operations.

Collaborating with the VP, PMO of Operations, you will govern programs up to $50M and major expansions up to $150M, steering technology adoption, OEE improvements, and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives across sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations.
15+ years of progressive engineering and operations leadership experience.
Experience leading global engineering organizations and capital portfolios (up to $100M+).
Strong background in process engineering and discrete automated manufacturing systems.
Proven expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the global engineering strategy aligned with Avantor's growth objectives, operational excellence, and sustainability goals.
Translate strategy into objectives, governance, and roadmaps across a multi-site organization.
Establish global engineering standards, design principles, and best practices for consistency and compliance.
Own and govern a global capital portfolio, including programs up to $50M and projects up to $150M.
Lead front-end engineering and execution of major capital investments.
