Job summary

Avantor seeks a Senior Director, Global Engineering to provide strategic and operational leadership across our global engineering organization. You will drive capital project execution, site engineering, automation systems, digital transformation, and EHS/PSM compliance to enable safe, scalable, and digitally enabled operations.

With oversight of programs up to $50M and large-scale projects up to $150M, you will establish standards, govern capital portfolios, and lead a global team to improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations.
• 15+ years of progressive engineering and operations leadership experience in regulated environments.
• Experience leading global engineering organizations and capital portfolios.
• Strong background in process engineering and discrete automated manufacturing systems.
• Proven expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the global engineering strategy aligned with Avantor's growth objectives and sustainability goals.
• Translate strategy into objectives, governance structures, and roadmaps across multi-site engineering.
• Establish global engineering standards, design principles, and best practices for consistency and compliance.
• Own and govern a global capital portfolio including programs up to $50M and projects up to $150M.
• Drive front-end engineering design and execution of major capital investments.
• Lead cross-functional alignment to meet scope, schedule, and budget KPIs.
• Develop and apply new technology to enhance OEE and operational predictability.
• Lead people development and workforce planning for the global engineering organization.
