Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Senior Director, Global Engineering to lead a worldwide engineering organization. The role drives capital project execution, site engineering, automation systems, and digital transformation across a network of manufacturing sites.

You will shape strategy, governance, and execution frameworks in collaboration with PMO leadership for multi‑site programs up to $150M, with a focus on safety, reliability, and enterprise‑scale efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field required.
15+ years of progressive engineering and operations leadership in regulated environments.
Experience leading global engineering orgs and capital portfolios (multi‑site).
Strong expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.
Experience with large plant builds, expansions, and brownfield transformations.

Responsibilities

Define and execute global engineering strategy aligned with growth and sustainability.
Govern global capital programs up to $50M and projects up to $150M.
Drive digital transformation, IT/OT integration, and Industry 4.0 deployment.
Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across sites.
Lead talent development and cross‑functional collaboration with operations, QA, and EHS.
