Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Senior Director of Global Engineering to provide strategic and operational leadership across its global engineering organization. The role drives capital project execution, site engineering, automated manufacturing systems, digital transformation, and EHS/PSM compliance to enable safe, reliable, scalable, and digitally enabled operations worldwide.

Working with the VP, PMO and L3 team, this role will govern global capital programs up to $150M, guide technology adoption, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations.
15+ years of progressive engineering and operations leadership.
Experience leading global engineering organizations and capital portfolios.
Strong background in process engineering and discrete automated manufacturing systems.
Expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.
Experience with new plant builds, large-scale expansions, and brownfield transformations.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the global engineering strategy across Avantor's sites.
Govern a global capital portfolio including programs up to $50M and projects up to $150M.
Lead front-end engineering design and execution of major capital investments.
Drive cross-functional alignment to meet scope, schedule, and budget KPIs.
Partner with IT/OT teams to enable digital platforms and IT security compliance.
Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement across the organization.
