Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a global CDU/Dry-Cooler engineering leader to standardize processes, product data architecture, and design methodologies across product lines. This role drives scalable platforms, configurability, and digital transformation to enable efficient development and long-term growth.

You will drive cross-functional alignment, govern BOMs and CAD data, and push for automation and reuse of designs through PLM, ERP, and related systems while mentoring teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in configurable product design and manufacturing.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience as a designer.
• Associate in Specialized Technology Degree.
• Mastery of 3D Modeling software (Creo, Solidworks, Inventor).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, MAPICS, AS/400) is strongly preferred.
• Experience with bill of material configurators (eLogia, VC) is preferred.
• Experience with automation coding (Smart Assembly,VBA) is preferred
• Travel up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

• Establish, document, maintain, and continuously improve standardized engineering processes for Dry-Coolers and CDUs through collaboration with global engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.
• Act as product architecture lead for design standardization initiatives, including Engineering Order Manual (EOM) structures, CAD models, drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), configuration models, and product documentation.
• Define and govern product data architecture, ensuring consistent product structures, engineering master data, and lifecycle management practices across all systems.
• Develop design standards, guidelines, and governance processes that improve product quality, engineering efficiency, and data consistency.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to standardize engineering processes globally and drive adoption of best practices across the organization.
